Our wool is cleaned and carded at a regional certified organic woolen mill in Southern Minnesota that specializes in natural process cleaning. They have been in the business of cleaning and carding raw wool for over 150 years.
We recommend using a certified organic cotton pillow protector and a pillow case for your pillow. Cleaning your pillow is simple, hang it in the sun and give it a few bats with a tennis racket. The power of the sun can clean our pillows perfectly but you can also use the wool cycle on your washing machine. It is gentle enough to not tumble the pillow. Hang dry in the sun only. The dryer will felt the wool. Over time, the wool coils will begin to flatten a little, and you may need to add some wool batting to your pillow. But with proper care, wool pillows will last a very long time and when that day comes, they are fully biodegradable!
